Belcan Workforce Solutions are seeking a Payroll Specialist on a 12 month contract for our client based in Broughton on a hybrid basis.

They are offering £24 per hour umbrella. Inside IR35.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Working as part of the payroll team, you will focus on running end to end payroll processes, as well as providing specific services in relation to the Executive population and Share Administration. In addition, you will be expected to deal with customers both on the telephone and via e-mail dealing with queries in a professional and proactive manner whilst maintaining a strong customer service focus.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

As a Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for the accurate and timely running of all divisional payrolls from start to finish monthly. You will provide expertise on escalated complex issues and queries for the HR and Payroll processing teams.

  • Be responsible for ensuring that all divisional payroll accounts with HMRC are correct, investigating any misbalances and dealing with remittances for all third parties.
  • Have a full understanding of the impact of Maternity/Paternity/Shared Parental leave/Sick pay on each divisional payroll to ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Have a full understanding of the P11D & P60 processes for all divisions to ensure that you can be both accountable for these key annual deliverables and deal with client and external body queries.
  • Deal with HMRC in relation to Tax and National Insurance queries, this will include building a relationship with the relevant CRM.
  • To be the focal point for managing and delivering the share scheme administration for all divisions.
  • Proactively identify process improvements, engage with the relevant key stakeholders and own the full end to end process to ensure implementation.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

To succeed in this role you will possess a recognised payroll qualification (CIPP or equivalent) and have an understanding of payroll process for 500+ employees minimum.

  • Would suit a candidate who has worked on a payroll system for a large company
  • Need to have a strong understanding of payroll legislation

  • Experience of a computerised payroll system (SAP/ Workday knowledge)
  • Knowledge of PAYE, SMP, SPP, SSP, Student Loans, Pensions and other deductions.
