Belcan Workforce Solutions are seeking a Responsible Quality Assurance Engineer on a 12-month contract to join our client's Defence & Space team in Stevenage.

They are offering up to £36.00 per hour Umbrella. Inside IR35. The role is a site-based role.

Location: Stevenage

Mission: Lead and assure quality excellence for one of our client's prestigious EOS projects. Ensure that our client's Spacecraft Integration, Processes, and Methods meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and perform Quality Assurance (QA) activities to ensure product quality.
  • Lead quality improvements in Spacecraft Production processes.
  • Manage and prioritize the project quality team.
  • Oversee corrective and preventative actions.
  • Drive efficient management of non-conformance and cost reduction.

Main Activities:

  • Develop and maintain a Quality Surveillance Plan (QSP).
  • Chair key project reviews (e.g., Manufacturing Readiness Review, Test Readiness Review).
  • Deliver quality briefs and raise awareness on lessons learned.
  • Review production work instructions for technical integrity.
  • Manage non-conformance reports and conduct risk analyses.
  • Perform audits and ensure implementation of lessons learned.
  • Provide regular reports on Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Represent Spacecraft Production Quality in decision forums.
  • Manage QA costs and drive the bid process for Satellite projects.
  • Promote a collaborative culture within the Satellite QA team.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication and reporting skills.
