Job Title: Mechanical Works Senior Quantity Surveyor
Join Belcan Workforce Solutions as a Mechanical Works Senior Quantity Surveyor for a leading UK construction and regeneration group in Dalry, Ayrshire. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential hybrid working.
Summary: The Mechanical Works Senior Quantity Surveyor will manage cost and contract administration on projects, including contract administration, payment assessment, cost reporting, and change management. Experience in regulated process sectors is advantageous.
Key Objectives:
- Administer contracts, subcontracts, and services.
- Work closely with project teams and customers.
- Ensure compliance with company and client quality assurance systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and negotiate terms and conditions.
- Handle claims/variations negotiations and contract close-outs.
- Support the project on-site and contribute to safety reviews.
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance.
- Report progress to Project Managers and develop positive client relationships.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize workload.
- Excellent time and cost management skills.
- Keen eye for detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Flexible to travel and spend time on-site.
Requirements:
- NEC4 contracts experience
- Extensive experience as a quantity surveyor in construction or related industries, particularly mechanical works.
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a regulated sector
- Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors with relevant experience - preferable
- EPCM experience - preferable
- Full UK driving license.
Qualifications:
- Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (preferable).
- Relevant QS degree.
